Four FIRs registered for violating mandatory tenant verification orders

REASI, Jan 23: District Police Reasi has registered four separate FIRs under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against four property owners for violating the mandatory tenant verification orders issued by the SDM Katra.
During routine checks, it came to notice that the following individuals had rented out their accommodations without mandatory police tenant verification, thereby acting in contravention of the orders promulgated by the SDM Katra:
Sanjeev Kumar S/O Bansi Lal, R/o Keshav Nagar, Katra
Parkash Chand S/O Ram Ditta, House No. 22, Ward No. 11, Arli Hansali
Sham Lal S/O Panti, Ward No. 9, Peer Baba Street, Matyal
Subash Chander @ Sonu, Secretary S/O Late Thakur Das, House No. 13, Ward No. 09, Keshav Nagar, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi
Accordingly, Case FIR Nos. 33/2026, 34/2026, 35/2026 and 36/2026, each U/S 223 BNS, have been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway.
All operations were carried out by SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS.
SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS reiterated that District Police Reasi has once again appealed to all landlords and property owners to strictly comply with tenant verification norms and ensure mandatory police verification before renting out any accommodation. Non-compliance with the orders will invite strict legal action.
District Police Reasi remains committed to maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety through proactive enforcement of statutory regulations.
