Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 28: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and compassion by *Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) J&K UT Convenor Ritika Trehan and her team at Channi Himmat, Jammu. The event was dedicated to underprivileged children, reflecting the true spirit of the Republic by empowering and uplifting the most vulnerable sections of society. The program included flag hoisting, cultural performances, and the distribution of sweets and educational materials to the children.
Speaking on the occasion, *Ritika Trehan* highlighted the significance of Republic Day as a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters and the adoption of the Indian Constitution, which ensures justice, equality, and liberty for all. She emphasized that the true essence of the Republic lies in empowering every citizen, especially the underprivileged and marginalized, to contribute to the nation's progress. "As we celebrate this day, let us pledge to work towards an inclusive India where every child, especially every girl, gets the opportunity to dream, learn, and succeed," she said.
From the perspective of *Beti Bachao Beti Padhao*, Ritika Trehan stressed the importance of educating and empowering girls in Jammu and Kashmir. She pointed out that while the UT has made significant progress in improving literacy rates and gender equality, there is still much to be done to ensure that every girl has access to quality education and opportunities. "Educating a girl child does not just transform her life but uplifts entire families and communities. On this Republic Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to the cause of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and work tirelessly to build a brighter future for our daughters," she added.
Trehan also shed light on the challenges faced by underprivileged children in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in rural and border areas, where access to education and basic amenities remains a struggle. She urged the government and civil society to come together to bridge these gaps and create an environment where every child can thrive. "The foundation of a strong and progressive Republic lies in the well-being and education of its children, and we must leave no stone unturned in achieving this goal," she remarked.
The event concluded with the children performing patriotic songs and cultural dances, symbolizing the unity and diversity of the nation. Ritika Trehan and her team distributed educational kits and other essentials to the children, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and contribute to the nation's development. She expressed her gratitude to her team and supporters for their dedication to the cause and urged everyone to continue working towards an equitable and inclusive society.
The celebration at Channi Himmat was a poignant reminder of the power of collective action and the importance of nurturing the next generation to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution. *Beti Bachao Beti Padhao's efforts under Ritika Trehan's leadership are a testament to the transformative impact of empowering children, especially girls, in creating a brighter and more equitable future for Jammu and Kashmir and the nation as a whole.
