early times report

Jammu, Jan 29: Jammu Kashmir BJP Spokesperson and former Vice Chairman Balbir Ram Rattan has described the Bharatiya Janata Party’s emphatic victory in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Mayoral elections as a clear endorsement of the party’s vision, governance model, and unwavering commitment to public welfare.
Reacting to the election results, Balbir Ram Rattan said that the BJP’s landslide win reflects the growing confidence of both elected representatives and citizens in the party’s leadership and policies. He stated that the election of Saurabh Joshi with a decisive margin is not merely a political achievement but a victory for development-oriented governance, transparency, and accountability. The mandate demonstrates the people’s faith in the BJP’s ability to deliver effective and responsive civic administration.
In the mayoral election, BJP candidate Saurabh Joshi secured 18 votes, comfortably surpassing his rivals. Aam Aadmi Party candidate Yogesh Dhingra received 11 votes, while Congress candidate Gurpreet Singh Gabi garnered 7 votes.
Balbir Ram Rattan noted that this clear and convincing mandate reflects both the unity within the BJP ranks and the party’s strong organizational presence in the Municipal Corporation.
He further emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of the party’s central and local leadership, the BJP has consistently prioritized urban development, civic infrastructure, cleanliness, and citizen-centric governance.
“Chandigarh, as a model city of the country, deserves efficient administration and forward-looking leadership and the election of Saurabh Joshi assures that these priorities will be pursued with renewed energy and dedication,” he said.
Expressing confidence in the newly elected Mayor, Balbir Ram Rattan said that Saurabh Joshi will work inclusively with all sections of society and ensure that municipal governance remains accessible and responsive to the needs of residents. He added that the BJP believes in cooperative and constructive politics, and the mandate received places a significant responsibility on the party to deliver on its promises and raise the standard of civic amenities in Chandigarh.
Congratulating the new Mayor and the entire BJP team, Balbir Ram Rattan also acknowledged the disciplined and committed efforts of party councillors and workers whose dedication made this victory possible. He reaffirmed that the BJP will continue to work tirelessly to transform Chandigarh into a cleaner, smarter, and more citizen-friendly city, setting new benchmarks in urban governance.
