NSS Unit of GDC Kalakote concludes of seven-day winter camp

KALAKOTE, Jan 31: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Kalakote successfully concluded its seven-day winter camp with a valedictory function on 30th January, 2026, marking the culmination of a week-long programme devoted to community service, awareness, and youth development.
The valedictory function was graced by Sh. Manik Singh Rathore, Tehsildar Kalakote, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Sh. Manik Singh Rathore appreciated the dedication and sincere efforts of NSS volunteers and emphasized the importance of youth participation in social service and nation-building. He urged students to remain committed to the ideals of discipline, service, and civic responsibility.
The programme was presided over by Principal, GDC Kalakote, Prof. Neeru Dhalla, who applauded the enthusiasm and commitment displayed by the volunteers throughout the camp. She highlighted the role of NSS in complementing academic learning by nurturing values such as empathy, leadership, and social awareness among students.
Ms. Rasleen Kour, student of semester 4th briefed the audience about the activities conducted during the camp. These included cleanliness drives, awareness programmes on health, hygiene, environmental protection, social issues, and meaningful interaction with the local community.
The proceedings of the valedictory function were smoothly conducted by Ms. Khalida Parveen, who served as the anchor for the event. The seven-day winter camp was organized under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer, Mr. Davinder Singh who at last, presented vote of thanks to everyone present in the valedictory function."
