Two day's training cum workshop program on AI concludes at IIT Jammu

JAMMU, Jan 31: Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh today addressed the valedictory session of two day's training cum workshop program on AI, organised by Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Jammu in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology Jammu. Director, Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Dr. Arun Kumar Manhas; Prof. Bijoy H Boruah and Dr. Amitash Ojha from department of Humanities and Social Science, IIT Jammu, other faculty members, scientists, research scholars and large number of students were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner Secretary highlighted the need of capacity building exercises with changing dynamics in working environment. He urged the participants to upgrade their existing skill sets to cope up with the emerging demands.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Arun Manhas emphasised on how Data Analytics and AI is revolutionizing e-governance in serving citizens with unprecedented efficiency and transparency. He further encouraged the participants to apply the learning on their day to day assignments.
On the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary also distributed certificates among participants.
Pertinently, the workshop commenced on 29th January and primarily covered the topics of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Advanced MS Excel operations and their application in governance. More than 70 Participants attended the training program.
The training programme was aimed at skill development and capacity building of officers and officials of the department in alignment with the increasing demand of data analytics and AI in governance. The training cum workshop was set to empower the participants with cutting-edge skills in leveraging AI with MS Excel and enhancing data preparation and analysis skills for its further application in data-driven decision making. Based on the learning from the program, the participants gave group presentations on the various topics relevant to governance in AI.
