JSS achieves first prize in UPU

JAMMU, Feb 2: Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua witnessed a moment of immense pride and celebration as it rejoiced in the remarkable achievement of Vibhuti Sharma, who secured the First Prize in the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Letter Writing Competition for Young People, which was held last year. She was awarded a cash prize of ?25,000 along with a certificate bringing great honour to the institution.
The prestigious competition was conducted under Ref. No. 10-2/WLF/2025/UPU dated 20/01/2025, on the deeply thought-provoking and environmentally significant topic:
"Imagine you are the ocean. Write a letter to someone explaining why and how they should take good care of you."
Vibhuti Sharma's success stands as a glowing reflection of her creativity, originality and sensitivity towards nature, meticulously nurtured under the able mentorship of Ms. Roopali Tandon, TGT English, whose unwavering guidance and academic expertise played a pivotal role in shaping this achievement
To mark this proud moment a grand felicitation ceremony was organized in the school premises. The distinguished occasion was graced by eminent dignitaries from the Postal Department:

Shah Nawaz Khan, Senior Superintendent of Posts, Jammu Postal Division

The programme commenced with a meaningful card and sapling ceremony, symbolizing environmental responsibility and sustainability. This was followed by a gracious welcome address by the Principal, Mrs. Mili R. Sumbria, setting an inspiring tone for the gathering. A melodious welcome song presented by the students further added grace and warmth to the occasion. The highlight of the programme remained the felicitation of Vibhuti Sharma along with her proud parents, amid applause and admiration celebrating her outstanding accomplishment and dedication . The proceedings also included a warm and dignified vote of thanks by Ms. Arti Rajput, Middle Wing Coordinator, who expressed sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, school leadership, teachers, parents and students for their invaluable presence and support.
Heartfelt gratitude is extended to the respected Principal Ma'am, Mrs. Mili R. Sumbria, whose inspiring leadership and visionary guidance continue to create wonderful opportunities for students to grow, excel and shine.
