Invest In Teachers
2/4/2026 9:12:47 PM
While addressing a ceremony organized to facilitate best inspirational teachers, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha emphasised on the need for forward-thinking teachers who can equip students for tomorrow’s uncertainties.
He spoke about the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI), climate shifts and innovation-driven economy. These forces are reshaping societies, economies and even the very nature of work. Preparing students for such a future demands a decisive break from traditional teaching methods to nurture critical thinking, adaptability, creativity and ethical responsibility — qualities that machines cannot replicate and that societies desperately need.
LG Sinha’s advice is a clear message that times have changed and the traditional methods of teaching have to change. It’s the teachers who lay the strong foundation of the society by grooming the children to become responsible adults. They are the ones who have to hold the hands of the children and put them on the right path.
Contribution of teachers cannot be undermined. Teachers and their craft form the backbone of a society and the soul of the nation. Inspirational teachers avoid rote learning and they weave science into captivating tales that electrify the classroom and for them history transcends mere dates and timelines, blooming into vivid sagas of human triumphs and tumbles. It’s the teachers who can transform students from passive listeners into intrepid explorers.
In the era of technology the role of teachers has assumed more importance. Many of them have given up the old ways of teaching and adapted new methods. They are aware of the fact that they have to hone the skills of the youngsters and prepare them to face the world.
Teachers are no longer mere transmitters of information; they are mentors, facilitators and guides who help students navigate a complex and uncertain world. Their contribution cannot be undermined or taken lightly.
The incorporation of the technology has added a new dimension to the entire teaching and learning processes. No one can afford to ignore the changes that have taken place during the past few years.
LG Sinha’s message should serve as both appreciation and a call to action. If India is to build a future-ready generation, teachers must be empowered, trained and trusted to innovate within the classroom. Investing in teachers is, ultimately, an investment in the nation’s future — one that will determine how well society responds to the uncertainties and opportunities of tomorrow.
