Early Times Report
RAMNAGAR, Feb 4: On the third day of the NSS Winter Cultural Camp, themed "Dogra Parampara Utsav", the NSS Unit of Government Degree College Ramnagar organised a vibrant exhibition showcasing Dogra culture and its traditional cuisine. The event was held under the able guidance of the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, with the objective of promoting cultural awareness and preserving regional heritage among students.
A total of six teams, each comprising five NSS volunteers, enthusiastically participated in the exhibition. The volunteers beautifully represented Dogra culture through an impressive display of traditional household items, artefacts, and authentic Dogra attire. Each team introduced itself through soulful Dogri songs and poems, reflecting the rich cultural ethos and linguistic heritage of the Dogra community.
The exhibition also featured a remarkable variety of traditional Dogra cuisine, offering a delightful range of flavours including sweet, savoury, and sour dishes. The presentation and explanation of the food items highlighted the cultural significance and culinary diversity of the region, drawing appreciation from faculty members.
The event was judiciously evaluated by a panel of judges comprising Dr. Ashni Devi, Dr. Kewal Kumar, and Prof. Sumita Rao. After careful assessment, Team 1 led by Preeti Devi secured the first position, followed by Team 5 led by Arpit Bandral in second place, while Team 2 led by Sidhant Sharma bagged the third position.
All faculty members lauded the efforts, creativity, and cultural commitment of the NSS volunteers and the NSS Unit. The Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, appreciated the successful organisation of the event and applauded the overall guidance and execution by Prof. Ritika Mahajan, along with effective media coverage and IT logistics managed by Prof. Sanjay Malhotra.
