Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 4: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), in collaboration with Guru Nanak High School, Dhinday Kalan (R S Pura), organized a Punjabi Folk Song and Music Programme today at Guru Nanak High School, Dhinday Kalan, R.S. Pura, Jammu. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from local folk artists of the R.S. Pura belt, who made the event vibrant and culturally rich by presenting traditional Punjabi folk songs. Prominent artists who performed included T. R. Premi & Party, Arjun Singh & Party, Kuldeep Raj & Party, and Naresh Kanth, who enthralled the audience with soulful folk renditions. Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Popinder Singh Paras, Senior Editor, Sheeraza Punjabi, elaborated on the objectives of the programme and stated that the Academy aims to provide a meaningful platform to the younger generation so that they remain connected with their cultural roots and rich folk traditions (Lokdhara). Lal Chand JKAS Additional Secretary JKAACL also issued directions to organize the programme at Guru Nanak High school, Dhinday Kalan, R S Pura, Jammu. Sh. Jang S. Verman also shared his views on the importance of preserving culture and heritage, especially highlighting the R S Pura belt as a rich centre of folk-lore and music. He appreciated the continuous efforts of the Academy and expressed hope that such initiatives would be carried forward in the future as well. The Principal of Guru Nanak High School, Sh. Darshan Lal Palmotra, appreciated the role of the Academy in organizing the programme at the institution and remarked that such cultural activities greatly inspire students. He also thanked the Academy for its cooperation and assured full support for similar programmes in future. Villagers, staff and hundreds of students of the school were present in the proframme and keenly enjoyed the programme. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sh. Sat Salarvi, while the vote of thanks was presented by the Principal of Guru Nanak High School, Dhinday Kalan. |
