Police cracks two theft cases; recovers about 150 grams of Gold, 13 Motorcycles in Chinore

JAMMU, Feb 4: Jammu (Rural) Police has successfully solved two separate theft cases through sustained investigation and timely action, leading to the arrest of accused persons and the recovery of stolen property in Chinore.
House Theft Case Solved
On November 27, 2025, a written complaint was received at Police Post Chinore from Abdul Hafeez, son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Thather, Ban Talab, Jammu. The complainant reported that unknown thieves had broken into his residential house and decamped with gold ornaments weighing approximately 20 tolas.
Accordingly, FIR No. 248/2025 under Sections 331(3)/305 BNS was registered at Police Station Domana, and the investigation was entrusted to PSI Arjun Singh, Incharge Police Post Chinore.
During the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up and examined. After sustained and diligent efforts, the police team of PP Chinore identified and apprehended three accused persons:
Bhader Ali S/o Sher Mohd, R/o Keran, Ban Talab, Jammu.
Bunty S/o Ram Paul, R/o H. No. 702, Sector No. 03, Bhagwati Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
Riaz Ahmed S/o Majeed Ahmed, R/o Thather, Ban Talab, Jammu
On the basis of their disclosure statements, stolen gold ornaments weighing about 15 tolas (approximately 150 grams) were recovered and taken into police possession as per procedure. Further recovery is expected, and the investigation is ongoing.
It is pertinent to mention that accused Bhader Ali is a habitual offender, with multiple theft cases already registered against him at different police stations.
Motorcycle Theft Case Solved.
In another case, on January 10, 2026, a complaint was received from Rakesh Kumar, son of Bhir Singh, resident of Gurha Brahmana, Ban Talab, Jammu. He reported that during the night, an unknown thief had stolen his Bullet motorcycle bearing Registration No. PB-07-BD-0983, which was parked outside his residence.
Subsequently, FIR No. 12/2026 under Section 303(2) BNSS was registered at Police Station Domana, and the investigation was entrusted to PSI Arjun Singh, Incharge Police Post Chinore.
During the investigation, the police party apprehended one accused person namely Bagh Hussain S/o Liaqat Ali, R/o Charka, Bhaderwah, A/P R.S. Pura, Jammu
On his disclosure, the stolen Bullet motorcycle was recovered. In addition, 12 more stolen motorcycles were also recovered from his possession and seized as per legal procedure.
Further investigation is in progress, and more arrests and recoveries are expected.
