SSP Jammu held crime/security review meeting at DPL Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 4: The Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu Sh. Joginder Singh-JKPS on 04.02.2025 held a Crime/Security review at District Police Lines.The meeting was attended by all the Zonal SsP,all SDPO's, DySP PC Jammu,Sr Prosecuting officers of DPO Jammu,Incharge FSL unit DPL Jammu, all SHO's as well as all MASI's/MHC's of Jammu District.
During the session, SSP Jammu appreciated the officers/jawans for the smooth peaceful conduct of several events in 2025 as well as smooth & peaceful Republic Day Celebrations 2026 and also provided briefing on the current security scenario, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and alertness across all Areas of Responsibility (AOR). He instructed officers to intensify surveillance, with particular focus on, Religious places, Critical installations, Identified hotspot area, Enhanced foot patrolling and deployment of Long Range and Short Range Patrols (LRPs/SRPs), Establishment of random /surprise nakas at strategic locations,effective area domination to prevent any disruption by anti-national, anti-social or mischievous elements.
During the meeting in addition to Crime review, various security measures were discussed for controlling crime & ensuring peace and stability in the District. Various aspects of policing including quality investigation of cases,time bound crime disposal, verifications, disposal of Property related & NDPS cases, completion of inquest proceedings, history sheeters , absconders, missing persons and other issues related to accountable policing were also discussed.
Disposal of overall cases including registered under New Criminal Laws of each Police Station/Sub-division/Zone were discussed in detail including disposal within time limit period of 60 & 90 days.SSP Jammu asked officers to ensure time bound completion of Investigation of cases to ensure speedy justice to the victims.
Progress on CCTNS front,e-Sakshaya, SID's, e-summons was also taken up during meeting. Progress on mandatory utilisation of FSL services was also discussed.
SSP Jammu also asked the officers for improving, capacity building on all important aspects of Policing.
Officers were asked for Mandatory utilisation of FSL services as per BNSS provisions is to be ensured without fail and progress achived and challenges faced on this front were discussed with all the stakeholders including incharge FSL unit DPL Jammu.
SSP Jammu also advised the police officers posted in the district in various capacities to provide a good policing with assurance of safety/security to the general public and adhering to all legal parameters give a tough time to anti-national and antisocial elements.
SSP Jammu specifically mentioned that all drug peddlers should be identified & strict action need to be taken against them. There is clearly policy of Zero Tolerance against Drugs and whosoever, is involved in drug trafficking should be strictly dealt
Officers were asked to fully implement citizen centric provisions available under New Criminal laws including registration of Zero-FIR's & e-FIR's.
SSP Jammu emphasized upon the participating officers to ensure quantitative and qualitative disposal of under investigation cases of various nature as priority and to take stringent action against those who are involved in various social crimes.
SSP Jammu directed officers to assure proper surveillance on all the released organised criminal elements and asked officers take all necessary steps to curb the criminal activities of Criminals especially Organised Criminals(Gangsters) so that general public don't feel any sort of criminal threat around.
