Early Times Report NEW DELHI, Feb 9: A research-oriented seminar on the theme Indian Knowledge Tradition and Communication was organized at LNCT University, Bhopal, under the joint aegis of the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Dwivedi, Head of the Department of Communication at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication and former Director General of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, attended the program as the keynote speaker. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Anu Srivastava, Head of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, LNCT University, Bhopal. The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. This was followed by a traditional welcome of the keynote speaker, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Dwivedi, with a shawl and coconut. In his lecture, he elaborated on the communication perspective of the Indian knowledge tradition, stating that India's traditional knowledge system has been rooted in dialogue, public consciousness, and social responsibility. Highlighting communication elements embedded in the Vedas, Upanishads, folk traditions, and cultural narratives, he explained that the Indian knowledge tradition provides a strong intellectual foundation for modern media and mass communication. Prof. (Dr.) Dwivedi further stated that the Indian communication perspective is not limited to the dissemination of information, but also strengthens ethics, sensitivity, and the spirit of public welfare within society. He emphasized that revisiting Indian knowledge traditions is highly relevant in today's global and digital communication era. |
