GDC Vijaypur organises Workshop on Safer Internet Day 2026

Vijaypur, Feb 10: Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur, organized a workshop on Safer Internet Day 2026 under the theme “Smart Tech, Safe Choices-Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI”, aiming to promote awareness about safe, secure, and responsible use of digital technologies among students.
The workshop was organized by Prof. Manisha Bharti, Department of Computer Applications, under the able supervision and guidance of the Principal, Dr. Ashu Vashisht. The event witnessed active participation from students and faculty members of the college.
During the workshop, Prof. Manisha sensitized the students about various aspects of cyber safety, including secure browsing practices, protection of personal data, cyber frauds, phishing attacks, cyberbullying, and responsible use of social media platforms. Emphasis was laid on developing digital responsibility and cyber awareness in today’s technology-driven world. She highlighted both the opportunities and challenges associated with AI and emphasized the need for informed and cautious use of emerging technologies.
Dr. Ashu Vashisht, Principal of the college, highlighted the growing importance of internet safety in academic and personal life. She encouraged students to remain vigilant while using digital platforms and to become responsible digital citizens.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof Meetu Sharma (Assisatnt Professor, Dept. of Geography). The whole programme was coordinated by Prof. Manisha Bharti (Lecturer, dept. of Computer Applications) and all the faculty members viz Prof. Ritu Bhagat (Associate Professor, Dept, of Education), Dr. Arti Sharma (Assistant Professor, Dept of Environmental Sciences),Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal (Lecturer, Dept. of Education), Dr. Anoop Singh (Lecturer, Dept. of History), Prof. Sonia Devi (Lecturer, Dept. of Hindi) also graced the occasion.
