Day 2nd of NSS Winter Camp at GDC RS Pura marked by cleanliness drive, budget quest

RS PURA, Feb 11: The NSS Unit of GDC R.S. Pura organized a Campus Cleanliness and Beautification Drive today under the esteemed patronage of the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, and under the aegis of IQAC. The initiative marked the second day of the NSS Winter Camp, during which volunteers actively demonstrated their commitment to social responsibility by participating in cleanliness and beautification efforts across the college campus. With enthusiasm and a spirit of selfless service, they cleaned various areas of the campus and carried out beautification drive to promote a cleaner, greener and healthier environment. This initiative was aimed at developing civic sense and strengthening environmental awareness among the students. Further enriching the day's activities, the volunteers took part in the My Bharat Budget Quest 2026 on My Bharat Portal, which broadened their understanding of national economic matters and the Union Budget. Their participation underscored the camp's objective of promoting holistic development through a blend of service and knowledge-based engagement. In her address, Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, Principal of the college, appreciated the dedicated efforts of the NSS Programme Officer, NSS Committee Members and the volunteers for their enthusiastic participation and commitment. She encouraged the students to actively engage in such initiatives that foster personality development, leadership qualities, and a strong sense of social responsibility. She also emphasized the importance of discipline, teamwork, and community service in shaping responsible and compassionate citizens. The entire event was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Lukesha Dubgotra, NSS Programme Officer, with the support of faculty members including Dr. Renu Sharma, Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, Dr. Rajinder Singh, Dr. Savleen Kour, Dr. Kiran Lata and other faculty members.
Prof. Lukesha Dubgotra, NSS PO extended her sincere appreciation to the faculty members, participants, and volunteers for their wholehearted support and dedication, which played an important role in the smooth and successful organization of the day's events. The day concluded on an uplifting and positive note, with volunteers feeling motivated and eager to take active part in the remaining activities of the NSS Winter Camp.
