Hardcore criminal nabbed with pistol alongwith 5 live cartridges

SAMBA, Feb 11: In a significant action against crime and drug trafficking, Samba Police apprehended a hardcore criminal-cum-drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh and recovered a pistol along with five live cartridges and approximately 20.23 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) from his possession.
Acting on information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Station Ramgarh laid a special naka on Rajpura-Jattan Road near watertank and intercepted a pedestrian under suspicious circumstances who was coming from village Khour side and moving towards Swankha. During frisking, one pistol alongwith 05 live cartridges and approximately 20.23 grams of heroin-like substance (chitta) were recovered from the possession of said person.
The hardcore criminal identified as Ranju Choudhary S/o Kuldeep Singh R/o Kathar tehsil Arnia district Jammu has been arrested. The police has seized one pistol alongwith 05 live cartridges and contraband item on the spot.
A case FIR No. 12/2026 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act and 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at PS Ramgarh and investigation started.
The whole operation was carried out by police team headed by SHO PS Ramgarh under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba.
It is pertinent to mention here that the said accused is a habitual hardcore criminal and is involved in multiple cases including attempt to murder, assault on public servant, snatching and other heinous cases under the Arms Act registered at different Police Stations of district Samba and district Jammu.

2. FIR No. 19/2022 U/S 307/353/382/34 IPC of P/S Ramgarh
3. FIR No. 29/2023 U/S 307/452/323/504/34. IPC of PS Ramgarh
4. FIR No.74/2024 U/S 307/351(3) BNS of PS Ramgarh
5. FIR No. 10/2023 U/S 4/25 Arms Act, 34 IPC was registered at PS Arnia
6. FIR No. 61/2023U/S 341/323/382/427/34 IPC, 4/25 Arms Act registered at PS Arnia
7. FIR No. 99/2024 U/S 109/115(2)/324(4)/191(2) BNS 3/4/25 Arms Act of PS Kahana Chak, Jammu.
8. FIR No. 50/2020 U/S 341/323,506/34 IPC, 4/25 Arms Act of PS Arnia.
