| Hardcore offender absconding for years apprehended by police | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, Feb 11: In a significant breakthrough, Reasi Police has achieved major success by apprehending an absconding accused who had been evading arrest in multiple criminal cases for several years. The accused, identified as Rakesh Kumar S/O Sham Lal R/O Ghordi, Ramnagar, District Udhampur, was wanted in connection with several criminal cases registered at different times, including:
FIR No. 14/2017 U/s 475/380/201 RPC
FIR No. 49/2019 U/s 452/380/384/323/201/34 RPC
FIR No. 190/2022 U/s 457/380/201/34 IPC
FIR No. 193/2022 U/s 457/380 IPC
Besides the above-mentioned cases, a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) was also pending against him.
Acting on specific inputs and after sustained efforts, a dedicated team of Police Station Katra launched a focused manhunt and successfully traced and apprehended the accused, who had been evading arrest for a considerable period.
Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the Hon'ble Court for further legal proceedings as per law.
The whole operation was carried out SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS.
SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS reiterated commitment to maintaining law and order in the district and ensuring that absconding accused persons are brought to justice. Strict action will continue against individuals involved in criminal activities. |
