Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 13: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee paid rich tributes to Sarojni Naidu, the first Indian woman president of Indian National Congress (INC) Freedom Fighter and 1st woman governor of Indian State of Utter Pradesh. In a simple function presided by JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra and attended by AICC Secretary S. Pargat Singh and other senior leaders of the party at PCC HQ Jammu, rich tributes were paid to Smt. Sarojni Naidu known as the nightingale of India who played a revolutionary role in the struggle for independence and was the first Indian woman to be the president of Congress Party in 1925 and letter became the first woman governor of United Provinces in 1947. She was close follower of Mahatma Gandhi and was a key figure in the civil disobedience and quit India movement and Salt March in 1930 and was jailed multiple times. PCC President Shri Tariq Hameed Karra paid rich tributes to the great freedom fighter and remembered her contribution for the nation and the congress party.
