Early Times Report
HARYANA, Feb 13: State Bank of India expresses its profound grief on the untimely demise of Shri Jagdish Prasad, a courageous police officer from Haryana, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while rescuing citizens during a tragic amusement ride accident.
In an extraordinary act of bravery and selflessness, Shri Jagdish Prasad ensured the safe evacuation of individuals from a Malfunctioning structure. During the rescue operation, a portion of the ride collapsed, leading to fatal injuries. His valour, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service embody the highest ideals of duty and sacrifice.
In the wake of this heart-breaking incident, SBI acted with urgency and empathy. Despite the occurrence taking place on a Sunday, teams across multiple offices immediately mobilized to assess eligible coverage and initiate the necessary formalities. It was confirmed that under an existing tie-up arrangement with Haryana Police, eligible personnel were covered for an insurance amount of ?40 lakhs.
Demonstrating seamless coordination and institutional agility, SBI swiftly activated internal processes across its offices and SBI Life Insurance to ensure an expedited settlement. Within just four working days of the incident, the insurance claim was processed and approved, and ?40 lakhs was credited to the nominee's account without delay.
SBI officials subsequently visited the bereaved family in person to offer heartfelt condolences and reaffirm the Bank's steadfast support. The seamless coordination involving branches and offices across three states, reflects SBI's vast network and its enduring commitment to delivering responsive, compassionate service, especially in moments of profound distress.
While no financial assistance can ever compensate for the immeasurable loss endured by the family, State Bank of India stands resolute in its pledge to support its customers and the broader community in their times of need.
State Bank of India solemnly salutes the courage and sacrifice of Shri Jagdish Prasad and reaffirms its commitment to serving not only as India's largest bank, but as a responsible and compassionate partner to the society.
