JAMMU, Feb 14: Rotary Club Jammu Tawi in Collaboration with Rotary Club of Jubilee Hills Hyderabad paid tributes to the Police Martyrs and felicitated their family members on 14th February, 2026 at Police Martyrs Memorial opposite Railway Station Jammu. The event began with wreath laying ceremony for the Martyrs by the dignitaries. The Chief Guest of the function Bhim Sen Tuti IPS, IGP Jammu zone in his address paid tribute to the Martyrs and welcomed their family members. He stressed on the need to involve the civil society to interact with the families of the Martyrs and remember our Heroes on all important functions. He said that a solider works full time to keep the society secure and live peacefully. His courage and dedication for the Nation is unmatched. He assured of all cooperation from the Police Department to Rotary Club Jammu Tawi for any kind of assistance in organizing functions for the families of Martyrs in future too.
The event was presided over by Kuldeep Khuda IPS, Former DGP J&K. He appreciated the role of Rotary Club Jammu Tawi in organising such an event to remember our fallen heroes and pay our gratitude to their families. He said that more than 2000 soldiders have sacrificed their lives for the Nation since Militancy. The family members are braving the hardships with grit and courage. This event, he said was to show solidarity and respect for all the men in Uniform who have sacrificed their lives for our better tomorrow. Ashok Gupta IPS, former IGP formally welcomed the guest and said that police uniform is a symbol of commitment, courage, and selflessness. Chosen few soldiers who attain Martyrdom do so with the faith that their families will be looked after by the Department, Govt. and Civil Society. So it's our duty to involve their families and make them a part of our lives. Dr Pawan Malhotra Principal ASCHOMS also spoke in honour of the Martyrs and appreciated the role and valour of the soldiers to keep our Nation safe and secure. Raj Shikhar Reddy PDG, Balakutti Reddy PP, Kalyan Pangloori, President, Rotary Club Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad supported the Rotary Club Jammu Tawi in the cycle distribution to the families of the Martyrs. Reddy said that the cycles were not a gift but a token of our gratitude and respect for the families who are enduring our burden of being safe and secure silently. Others present on the occasion were senior and retired police officers including Suleman Choudhary IPS, IGP Traffic, J S Johar IPS, IGP Telecommunications, Rajeshwer Singh DIG, Joginder Singh JKPS , SSP Jammu, C l Banal (Retd.) member PSC, Senior Rotarians and Police personals. Cycles were presented as a token of gratitude to the family members of Martyred Dy.SP's, Inspector's,SI's, ASI, Head Constables ,Sg.CT's and Constables. The program was compeered by Rtn. Dr Sandhya Bharadwaj with the support of PDG Dr Dushyant Choudhary. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr Shivani Choudhary President, Rotary Club Jammu Tawi who was grateful that the dignitaries and family members of the Martyrs could spare their precious time and helping us to personally pay our gratitude for all the sacrifices their brave soldiers have made and for all the support their families have shown. They are also our heroes and deserve more from society for their betterment in the future.
