Bishnah police tighten noose on drug trade; four apprehended with heroin-like substance

JAMMU, Feb 14: Acting upon reliable and specific information, Police Station Bishnah conducted a special operation at Neelam Palace, Bhatyari, Bishnah, within its jurisdiction. The operation was led by Incharge SHO Bishnah,Inspector Deepak Thakur accompanied by a police team, and was carried out in the presence of the Executive Magistrate to ensure full transparency and compliance with legal procedures.
During the course of the operation, four individuals were apprehended, and a total of 10.62 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their personal possession. The details of the recoveries are as follows:
Manjeet Singh S/o Simander Singh, R/o Akhnoor - 2.72 grams
Vikram Singh S/o Late Hoshar Singh, R/o Akhnoor - 3.07 grams
Vishal Singh S/o Dattander Singh, R/o Akhnoor - 3.49 grams
&
Rahul Sharma S/o Late Baby Ram Sharma, R/o Akhnoor - 1.34 grams (without polythene)
All recovered substances were weighed on the spot and documented strictly in accordance with established legal protocols. The contraband was duly seized, sealed, and taken into possession through properly executed seizure memos in the presence of the Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses.
A case under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bishnah. Further investigation is in progress to determine the source of the contraband and to explore any forward or backward linkages.
Police Station Bishnah remains steadfast in its commitment to combating drug abuse and trafficking and will continue to take strict action against those involved in illegal narcotics activities.
Jammu Police reiterates its firm resolve to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the public to cooperate by sharing information related to drug trafficking and abuse.
