Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 14: BJP District Jammu South Publicity Secretary Pardeep Sharma said that India has made continuous progress in strengthening earlier investments in the full-stack value chain of its semiconductor ecosystem under the India Semiconductor Mission 1.0. He emphasized that semiconductors are the backbone of modern electronics, powering computers, mobile devices, telecommunications, automobiles, defense systems, and artificial intelligence. Pardeep Sharma informed that under ISM 1.0, the government has prepared a strong base in design, fabrication, assembly, and testing with an incentive package of 276,000 crore. By December 2025, 10 projects involving a total investment of {1.60 lakh crore have been approved in six states, which include silicon fabs, compound semiconductor facilities, and advanced packaging units. This progress is a significant step towards self-reliant India, making India a strong and reliable partner in the global semiconductor supply chain. With the recent announcement of ISM 2.0 in the Budget 2026-27, the focus will now increase on equipment, materials, full-stack Indian IP, and research centers, which will further strengthen the country's technological sovereignty. Pardeep Sharma said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is rapidly becoming a global hub for technology and electronics manufacturing, which will create new opportunities for employment and innovation for the youth. |
