Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 16: A prominent political activist and former Sarpanch, Badri Nath Sharma, along with hundreds of supporters, joined the Apni Party today in the presence of Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari in Jammu.
The joining programme was organised by Apni Party Senior Leader Bodh Raj Bhagat at Gandhi Nagar in Jammu.
Apni Party chief Altaf Bukhari welcomed former Sarpanch Badri Nath Sharma and his supporters into the party fold. He congratulated them on their decision and expressed hope that their joining would strengthen the party's base in the Jammu plains.
Meanwhile, he appreciated the constant efforts of the provincial leaders and district teams in strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
In his address on the occasion, Bukhari said that people have realised that political parties misled them during the Assembly elections and attempted to create a wedge along regional and communal lines. Therefore, more and more people from different political backgrounds are joining the Apni Party, which shows their faith in the party's policy and agenda of equitable development across all regions, he added.
He highlighted how the divisive agenda of certain parties has failed in Jammu and Kashmir.
"The people are not going to support parties that are responsible for misunderstandings and the present situation in Jammu and Kashmir," he said, urging people to unite for the progress of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir; Party General Secretary Vijay Bakaya; Provincial President Jammu Manjit Singh, Chief Coordinator and former MLA Abdul Majid Padder, Provincial Vice President Saleem Alam; Provincial In-charge Secretary Ajaz Kazmi; District President Jammu Urban Abhay Bakaya; District President RS Pura Advocate Harpreet Singh , Provincial In-charge Youth Wing Vishal Nariana; and others were also present during the joining programme.
