Early Times Report THANNAMANDI, Feb 17: The Mission Yuva Committee and the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) of Government Degree College Thannamandi, in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Branch Thannamandi, organized an awareness program on "Financial and Entrepreneurial Schemes under Mission Yuva Udyam Jagriti 4.0" at the college campus. The programme was conducted under the able guidance of the Principal, Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, who, in his presidential remarks, emphasized the transformative potential of Mission Yuva. "Mission Yuva is not merely a scheme but a vision to empower young minds with financial literacy and entrepreneurial confidence. Such initiatives bridge the gap between education and employability," he remarked. The session aimed to sensitize students about various bank-supported financial, credits, and entrepreneurship schemes designed to encourage self-employment and innovation among youth. The keynote address was delivered by the Branch Head, Mohd. Rafiq, who highlighted the role of banks in nurturing Entrepreneurship, "Today youth must see banks not just as lenders, but as partners in their entrepreneurial journey. Mission Yuva provides a structured platform to convert ideas into viable enterprises," he stated. Other members of the J&K Bank team who addressed the students about the various Entrepreneurial Schemes includes: Aman Jamwal, Sheheryer Chowdhery, Sahildeep Sudan , Faisal Mehmood and Hitesh Kapoor. Mohd. Asif Iqbal representative from CRISIL Foundation CFL Darhal also addressed the students on financial literacy and capacity building. The programme was coordinated by Prof. Rizwana Kousar, Nodal Officer, Mission Yuva, who underscored the institutional commitment towards student empowerment. Mission Yuva Committee members Dr. Shazia Paswa and Dr. Attiq-ul-Rehman along with Prof. Yasmine Koser and Dr. Waheed Ahmed actively contributed to the successful organization of the event, whereas the formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Mohd Ashraf Head Department of Urdu. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where students actively engaged with the speakers, reflecting keen interest in entrepreneurship and financial planning. |
