Panel Advocate and Mediator Adv Rajkumar Nagotra acted as the resource person for the programme. He elaborated on the objectives and benefits of mediation, highlighting that it is a voluntary, confidential and cost-effective mechanism where disputes are resolved with mutual consent, preserving relationships and ensuring speedy justice.
Separately, a door-to-door awareness programme on "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" and "Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat" was successfully conducted by the PLVs of DLSA Reasi at Village Theot and by the PLVs of TLSC Mahore at the Mahore Court Complex and various other places in Mahore.
During the programme, the PLVs highlighted the objectives of the schemes, emphasising gender equality, value of education for girls, prevention of female foeticide and the collective responsibility of society to ensure equal opportunities for daughters. The participants were also informed about various legal provisions and government welfare schemes aimed at safeguarding the rights and dignity of women and girl children.
Additionally, an awareness campaign on agricultural schemes with a special focus on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) was successfully conducted by the PLVs of DLSA Reasi at Village Kotla.
