FICCI FLO JKL conducts Makeup Training Workshop under "Skill To Scale" wedding initiative

JAMMU, Feb 17: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh(JKL) Chapter successfully conducted a Makeup Training Workshop under its ongoing "Skill to Scale" initiative, aimed at empowering women at the grassroots level and enhancing livelihood opportunities through skill development.
The workshop was specially curated for 20 women representing various Self-Help Groups (SHGs), all of whom are heads of their respective groups. Designed as a Train-the-Trainer model, the session focused on equipping these leaders with practical Makeup skills so they can further train and empower other women within their SHGs, thereby multiplying the impact and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The workshop was conducted by FLO JKL members Mrs. Deepti Gandotra and Mrs. Iruvanthika Chowdhary, along with makeup artist Ms. Shina, who shared hands on techniques and practical insights into the field of makeup artistry as a potential source of income, especially within the wedding and events sector.
Speaking at the occasion, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL, Mrs. Aarti Chowdhary, emphasizedthe importance of self-reliance and confidence among women. She encouraged the participants to work hard, become financially independent, and carve a name themselves. She highlighted that FICCI FLO JKL has consistently worked towards the upliftment and empowerment of women at the grassroots level, and this initiative is a step towards equipping women with skills that can help them earn and support their families with dignity.
She added that through the "Skill to Scale" initiative, FLO JKL aims to create meaningful opportunities by training women in practical, income- generating skills that enable them to provide for themselves and build sustainable futures.
During the workshop, Aarti Chowdhary was also facilitated by Mrs. Preeti Sharma (JKAS Joint RCS Special) Principal Centre for Cooperatives Management for her Leadership and continued efforts toward women's empowerment.
Other distinguished members present were Mrs. Varuna Anand - National Initiative Head Partnership and Collaborations, Mrs. Sona Mehta - Treasurer FICCI FLO JKL, who extended their support to the participants.
