Govt Sri Ranbir Model HSS, Jammu releases Annual School Magazine "Dharohar" and celebrates Annual Day with Grandeur

JAMMU, Feb 18: Govt. Sri Ranbir Model Higher Secondary School, a prestigious heritage institution with a glorious history of more than 140 years and a strength of about 1500 students, celebrated its Annual Day with great enthusiasm and dignity. The highlight of the event was the formal release of the Annual School Magazine "Dharohar" in the presence of eminent dignitaries, staff, students and parents.
The Annual Magazine was formally released by the Minister for School Education, Mtr. Sakina Itoo. The occasion was graced by Satish Sharma, Cabinet Minister, Sajjad Shaheen, MLA, Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Director School Education Jammu, and Ajeet Sharma, Chief Education Officer Jammu.
The dignitaries were accorded a traditional and honoured with ceremonial shawls and eco-friendly planters as a mark of respect. They appreciated the school for its rich legacy, outstanding academic record and its significant contribution to the field of education in the region for over a century.
Meritorious students who excelled in Board examinations and other academic pursuits were felicitated on the occasion. Special honours were also conferred upon outstanding sports persons, NCC cadets and other achievers who have brought laurels to the institution at various levels. The awards were presented by Satish Sharma, Hon'ble Cabinet Minister, who motivated the students to work with dedication, discipline and a spirit of excellence.
In her address, Minister Sakina Itoo congratulated the school for its remarkable journey of 140 years and for maintaining high standards in academics and co-curricular activities. She emphasized the importance of holistic education, character building and the role of educational institutions in shaping a progressive society. She also appreciated the publication of the annual magazine "Dharohar" as a creative platform for students to express their literary and intellectual abilities.
Satish Sharma, Hon'ble Cabinet Minister, highlighted the importance of Annual Day celebrations in boosting the confidence and talent of students and lauded the efforts of the teaching faculty in nurturing young minds. MLA Sajjad Shaheen also congratulated the school for preserving its heritage while moving ahead with modern educational practices.
Earlier, the Principal, Dr. Kishor Sharma, in his welcome address presented the Annual Report and highlighted the achievements of the school in academics, sports, NCC and cultural activities. He described "Dharohar" as a mirror of the creative expression and scholastic excellence of the students and reiterated the institution's commitment to quality education and value-based learning.
The cultural programme was a major attraction of the event and left the audience spellbound. The performances included a traditional Dogri folk dance reflecting the cultural ethos of the region, an energetic Punjabi dance, an impressive and disciplined display by NCC cadets and a colourful presentation by the kindergarten students on a musical number, which received huge applause.
The function witnessed the participation of a large gathering of parents, alumni and well-wishers, making it a memorable celebration of the institution's glorious past and progressive future.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
