| Ramban police arrests one person, recovers heroin-like contraband | | |  Early Times Report
CHANDERKOTE, Feb 18: Ramban Police, as a part of its intensified drive against drug trafficking, achieved another success by arresting one person and recovering heroin-like contraband in the Chanderkote area.
On 17.02.2026, a police party from Police Station Chanderkote, on the basis of information intercepted a pedestrian, during the checking, heroin-like contraband was recovered from the possession of the said person.
The person is identified as Sajad Ahmad S/O Mohd. Shafi R/O Bhedi,Duksan Tehsil and District Ramban who was apprehended on the spot. The recovered contraband was seized on the spot as per due legal procedure.
Accordingly, FIR No. 15/2026 under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chanderkote, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended distribution network of the contraband.
Ramban Police appeal public at large to be watchful of such peddlers/traffickers and inform the nearby police station or police post if need arises. |
