Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 19: The NSS Unit of National College of Education, Purkhoo, Camp Jammu organized three days of activities under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officer. The students of B.Ed Semester 1st actively participated in the camp conducted in various areas of Purkhoo Camp from 16th to 18th February 2016. On 16th February, a cleanliness drive was conducted at Gompull Bridge, Purkhoo, where students cleaned the surroundings and spread awareness about maintaining hygiene and sanitation in public places. On 17th February, an awareness programme was organized at the Anganwadi Centre. Purkhoo Camp The students highlighted important social issues such as female foeticide and gender discrimination, interacting with local residents and spreading the message of gender equality. On 18th February, the students visited the slum areas of Purkhoo Camp and conducted awareness campaigns on "Save Water," "Save Energy," and population awareness. They educated the residents about conserving natural resources, using electricity responsibly, and understanding the importance of population control for sustainable development |
