Kapurthala, Feb 20: Shri Ajay Nandan has assumed the charge of General Manager, Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala on 17 February 2026.
Shri Ajay Nandan is a 1989 batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME). Prior to his present appointment, he was serving as Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer (PCME) at North East Frontier Railway, Guwahati.
With a distinguished career spanning over 35 years in Indian Railways, Shri Ajay Nandan has worked in various capacities across Zonal Railways, Production Units, Railway Divisions, and the Railway Board. Apart from his tenure as PCME at North East Frontier Railway, he has held several key assignments at New Delhi, Kolkata, Malda Town, Hajipur, Kota, Moradabad, Jamalpur and other important railway establishments. He also served as Divisional Rail Manager of Moradabad Division from 2021 to 2023.
During his illustrious service, Shri Ajay Nandan has been the recipient of numerous awards and has also undergone advanced training programmes in India and abroad, enriching his technical and managerial expertise.
After assuming charge, General Manager Shri Ajay Nandan held an introductory meeting with all departmental heads in his office.
During the meeting, a detailed presentation was made before the General Manager, highlighting an overall profile of Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, coach manufacturing activities, and various ongoing projects.
While interacting with senior officers of RCF, Shri Ajay Nandan appreciated the significant contribution of Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala towards the progress of Indian Railways. In addition, Shri Ajay Nandan offered valuable suggestions related to various aspects of coach manufacturing and laid special emphasis on quality, productivity, and timely execution of work.
