NSS Unit Sewak GDC Neeli Nallah organizes one-day awareness programme

UDHAMPUR, Feb 20: The NSS Unit Sewak of Government Degree College Neeli Nallah Udhampur organized a one-day Awareness Programme in its adopted village, Neeli Nallah, under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Seema Arora, Principal of the College. The programme was efficiently conducted by Prof. Shaista Yasmeen, NSS Programme Officer, along with active participation of NSS volunteers. The programme aimed at spreading awareness among villagers regarding road safety, cleanliness, and the constructive role of youth in rural development.
The event began with an Awareness Rally on Road Safety in which NSS volunteers carried placards and raised slogans highlighting the importance of traffic rules, helmet usage, and responsible driving. The rally received positive response from the local community. This was followed by a visit to the Panchayat Ghar, Neeli Nallah, where volunteers interacted with Panchayat representatives and discussed developmental issues of the village. The interaction strengthened coordination between the college and local governance.
A Cleanliness Drive was also conducted in and around the village area. Volunteers actively participated in cleaning public spaces and spreading awareness about sanitation and environmental hygiene. On the occasion, Prof. Shaista Yasmeen delivered a lecture on the importance of the NSS Unit in the development of the adopted village. She emphasized the NSS motto "Not Me But You" and encouraged volunteers to actively contribute towards social upliftment and nation-building.
The programme concluded with an experience-sharing session, where NSS volunteers expressed their views and reflected upon their learning experiences through community service. The entire programme was successfully conducted and appreciated by villagers. It reaffirmed the commitment of the NSS Unit Sewak towards community engagement, social awareness, and holistic rural development.
