KP delegation of ORT Purkhoo camp calls on RRC for permanent restoration of electricity

JAMMU, Feb 20: More than 125 displaced Migrant families who are temporarily living in miserable and dilapidated conditions in one room tenament sets in Purkhoo face countless problems on every front especially on the front of electricity which was disconnected yesterday due to unknown reasons & in this context a strong delegation of the Purkhoo migrant camp today called on Dr. Arvind Karwani, Relief & Rehabilitation commissioner J&K in his office chamber at Jammu under the leadership of M.K.Yogi senior KP leader to apprise him about the deteriorating condition of the camp inhabitants. Yogi apprised the Relief & Rehabilitation commissioner in detail about their pathetic conditions on the fronts of their suitable accommodation, better provisions of pure drinking water and especially brought into his knowledge the grave issue of electricity which was disconnected yesterday this putting these more than 125 poor displaced migrants families on great discomfort and inconvenience & the discontinuity also caused great hardships for their school going children Yogi appealed the officer who being the nodal agency of migrants to take this matter immediately with the concerned department for immediate restoration of electricity in this camp. He further urged Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner to make proper arrangements for their suitable accommodation by adjusting these poor migrant families in suitable quarters in any camp in Jammu . The officer gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that their over all problems especially restoration of electricity will be ensured after taking the matter with Power Development Department on immediate basis so that regular supply of electricity is ensured in the shortest possible time. The prominent Camps inhabitants who were the part of the delegation were Janki Nath Raina, Raj Kumar Dulloo, Kamal Ji Koul, Raju Pandita, Janki Nath Sharma, Babli Sadhu, Renu Koul, Vandana Devi , Surjit Singh and others.
