CRPF Playing Pivotal Role
2/22/2026 9:19:07 PM
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has played a key role in establishing peace in Jammu and Kashmir. The paramilitary force has worked in close coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army in the fight against terrorism.
While addressing the 87th Raising Day parade of the CRPF Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave credit to security forces, particularly the Central Reserve Police Force, for restoring peace in Jammu and Kashmir and announced: “stone pelting incidents in Kashmir have become zero. Industries are coming up, and development is taking place. CRPF, BSF and especially Jammu and Kashmir Police have a huge contribution in this.”
For the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the decline in street violence and the absence of stone-pelting incidents signify more than just statistics—they represent reclaimed public spaces, safer marketplaces, uninterrupted schooling, and a growing sense of normalcy. The revival of tourism, renewed investor interest, and the establishment of new industries in the Union Territory are visible indicators of this stability. Development and security, once seen as parallel tracks, now move in tandem.
He also lauded the CRPF for playing an important role in ensuring that after the abrogation of the Article 370 not a single bullet was needed to be fired in Jammu and Kashmir.
Besides playing a major role in J&K in the fight against terrorism the CRPF has played a key role in protecting internal security and sovereignty of the entire country.
Naxalism had spread across 12 states and countless districts of the country, and when the Government of India resolved to uproot this menace, personnel of the CRPF and the CoBRA force played the most crucial role in this effort. Such a difficult task was completed in just three years.
The CRPF today stands not merely as a paramilitary force but as a pillar of India’s internal security architecture. From election duties in sensitive constituencies to counter-insurgency operations in challenging terrains, it shoulders multifaceted responsibilities with quiet efficiency. Its adaptability—whether in riot control, anti-terror missions, or humanitarian assistance during natural disasters—demonstrates institutional resilience.
In acknowledging the achievements of the CRPF and other security forces, it is equally important to continue investing in their welfare, modern equipment, and psychological well-being.
A secure India rests on their shoulders. Their courage has not only restored calm in Jammu and Kashmir but has reinforced the sovereignty and unity of the nation as a whole.
