Pathania Kickstarts Key Public Utilities at Tikri–Mand

Udhampur, Feb 22: MLA Udhampur East R.S. Pathania inaugurated several public utilities in the Tikri–Mand area and operationalised the Water Supply Scheme Tikri–Mand, reiterating the government’s commitment to the vision of “Water for All.”
Speaking on the occasion, Pathania said that the government is committed to ensuring the availability of potable drinking water to every household. He announced that all suspended water connections in the area will be restored so that residents do not face inconvenience.
The MLA further stated that all suspended works under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) will be propped up and expedited. He reiterated that the Bharat Sarkar’s resolve of providing 55 litres of drinking water per person per day will be ensured on the ground in Udhampur East constituency.
He also said that issues related to damaged infrastructure and water supply works affected during the recent floods will be taken up with the concerned departments so that necessary restoration can be carried out at the earliest.
Addressing issues raised by locals, the MLA also dedicated a new electric station at Satteni to mitigate the persistent problem of low voltage in the area.
Pathania informed that work on the Satteni Grid Station will be completed shortly. He added that strengthening of power grids in Tikri and Balian areas will also be taken up to improve basic infrastructure and ensure better power supply.
Highlighting the tourism potential of the region, he stressed the need to promote Tikri temples, Mansar Lake tourism, and the historic Khooneshwar Temple area. He stated that tourism can become the backbone of the local economy and generate employment opportunities for the youth.
The MLA reiterated that the government is focused on fulfilling the basic needs of the people and ensuring balanced development across the constituency.
Among those present on the occasion were Smt. Arti Sharma (Sarpanch), Purshotam Gupta (Sarpanch), Subhash Chander, Balwan Singh, Ajay Goswami, along with other local residents and officials.
