CBC exhibition inspires youth for entrepreneurship

UDHAMPUR, Feb 24: The second day of the Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP), a multimedia exhibition organized here by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), witnessed a good turnout of youth. Students from ITI and Government College for Women (GCW) participated in the event. They were briefed on the themes, Startup India & Mission Aroma by Vikram Uppal, In-charge, CBC, Doda.
Nalini Pathania, Principal, GCW graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her address, she emphasized the power of informed citizenry. "Exhibitions like these are vital windows of opportunity for our students to understand the developmental landscape of our nation", she said. The principal urged young women to look beyond traditional roles, and harness the information provided here to become leaders in their chosen fields.
Vikram Singh, Lead Bank Manager (SBI), attended the programme as the Guest of Honour. Providing insights into the banking sector's role in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, he encouraged students to explore startup ventures. "The transition from a job seeker to a job creator begins with financial literacy", he said. The banking sector, particularly SBI, is committed to providing the necessary credit facilities and mentorship to turn innovative student projects into viable business startups under various government schemes.
During the exhibition, the expert sessions featured insights from other resource persons, including Ms. Sonam from Handicrafts Department, and Ms. Pooja Dutta from Handloom Department. They highlighted the importance of preserving traditional arts while integrating modern marketing techniques. They informed the participants about various subsidy schemes and training programs available to the youth interested in the rich heritage of Jammu and Kashmir's artisanal sectors. Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Gurnam Singh, In-charge, CBC, Udhampur, said the objective of the exhibition is to inspire the youth to come forward and embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship.
