A Historic, epoch-making and revolutionary AI Impact Summit 2026, concluded gracefully after adopting joint global declaration and it is no ordinary thing. At the initiate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the AI summit was organised and held for innovation, infrastructure and equitable AI development. The AI Impact Summit 2026, held in New Delhi on 16--20 February, concluded with the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact, marking a significant milestone in global cooperation on Artificial Intelligence and India’s rise as a global Artificial power. The India AI Impact Summit 2026, anchored in the principles of People, Planet, and progress, focused on hoe AI can advance humanity, support inclusive growth, and safeguard the shared global commons. Structured around 3 core Sutras and 7 Chakras [pillars] of action, the Summit brought together over 20 Heads of Government, representatives from 118 countries, more than 100 global AI CEOs and CXO’s, and over five lakh participants, emerging as one of the largest AI gathering in history. The AI impact summit was in fact unprecedented and first of its kind. At the core, the Summit advanced India’s vision of responsible, sovereign, and inclusive AI, one that serves not only advanced economies but also the Global South. One of the important outcomes of the AI Summit was India’s formal entry into Pax Silica initiative, signalling a decisive geopolitical and technological shift. To understand the importance of the 2026 AI impact summit, it is important to trace the evolution of global AI diplomacy. There is no international organisation at present that convenes AI summits, participating countries have generally passed the baton for the following year’s summit. The AI summit series began in 2023 at Bletchley Park in the UK, where discussions were primarily centred on AI safety and existential risks. The baton than passed to Seoul in 2024and Paris in February 2025,where the PM Of India cochaired the summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron.. India positioned itself as a bridge, balancing innovation with responsibility, growth with governance, a middle path especially relevant for emerging economies. Building on the global transition, India structured the Summit around a clearly articulated set of priorities. India structured the summit around integrated priorities, democratising AI to prevent concentration of capabilities, Global south inclusion ,particularly for under-represented languages in large Language Models [LLM’s], safe and trusted AI through ethical governance frameworks, and sovereign capacity building encompassing indigenous LLM’s, data centres, semiconductor ecosystems, and compute infrastructure. Working groups on human capital, social empowerment, resilience, and economic development reflected this vision. A landmark diplomatic outcome of the Summit was the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact on 19 February 2026, endorsed by 89 countries and international organisations. Inspired by the principle of’’Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya’’[welfare for all, Happiness for all] and ‘’Vasudhaive Kutumbakam’’[the whole world is one family], the Declaration affirmed that AI’s benefits must be equitably shared across humanity. Key Global Platforms & Mechanisms under the New Delhi Declaration on AI----a---Charter for the Democratic Diffusion of AI -promotes affordable and equitable access to foundational AI resources across countries. b---Global AI Impact Commons---A platform to scale, share, and replicate AI use cases globally .c—Trusted AI Commons---A repository of tools, benchmarks, and best practices to support secure and reliable AI development. d---International Network of AI for science institutions---A framework to accelerate AI-driven scientific, research through global collaboration. e---AI for Social Empowerment Platform---Facilitates equitable knowledge exchange and socially relevant AI applications. f---AI workforce Development playbook & Reskilling Principles-----Provides guidance for preparing nations and workers for an AI -driven economy. g---Guiding Principles on Resilient and efficient AI -Focuses on promoting energy -efficient and sustainable AI infrastructure. With over five lakh participants across multiple countries. It demonstrated unprecedented global engagement. The strong youth participation, including over 2.5 lakh students co9ntributing to ethical AI discussions, symbolised India’s attempt to embed AI awareness at the grassroot level. This, large -scale engagement strengthened India’s credibility as a convenor of global technology diplomacy. Investment Commitments –Signalling Economic Confidence---The Summit translated diplomatic momentum into tangible economic commitment. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to –a---Advancing shared global priorities in AI governance. b---Promoting voluntary, non-binding frameworks. c---Translating vision into action through co0nt9inued collaboration. The, Advent of AI marks an inflection point in the trajectory of technological evolution. The choices that we make today will shape the AI-enabled world that future generations will inherit. Artificial Intelligence AI stands at the threshold of fundamentally reshaping human civilization, pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve .This technological revolution opens unprecedented opportunities for advancement across every domain of human endeavour, while profoundly challenging the very foundations of society in an increasingly complex and evolving geopolitical order. For developing countries, AI offers an unprecedented opportunity to leapfrog traditional developmental pathways. The multi -model and multi-lingual capabilities of AI create new possibilities through which access to benefits can be made available at scale. As a result, AI is seen not merely as a technological advancement but as a strategic tool to enable inclusive growth and expand access to opportunities that have historically been out of reach for large segments of the population. We acknowledge that AI Impact Summit 2026 will contribute to strengthening international cooperation and multistakeholder approach to advance shared priorities as well as voluntary and non-binding guidelines and principles, which can promote AI for ensuring a prosperous future for humanity. The member countries said that they remain committed to advancing their shared aspirations for realising the benefits of AI and look forward to continued cooperation for translat8ing these aspirations into concrete actions for the three Sutras of the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
