Jammu, Feb 24: SKUAST-J organized a one-day training program on FPO–Bank–Insurance Interaction to strengthen coordination between Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), banking institutions, and insurance agencies. The program aimed at improving financial access, credit linkage, and risk management support for FPOs. Key Highlights of the Training Understanding Credit Linkage: Bank officials explained loan products, working capital management, KCC linkage, term loans, and documentation procedures for FPOs. Insurance Coverage & Risk Mitigation: Experts discussed crop insurance schemes, asset insurance, group insurance policies, and claim procedures. Government Schemes & Subsidies: Participants were briefed on various government-backed schemes supporting FPO financing and insurance coverage. The program emphasized the importance of financial literacy, timely credit access, and comprehensive insurance coverage to ensure sustainability and growth of FPOs. Participants appreciated the platform for direct interaction, which helped clarify procedural bottlenecks and encouraged stronger institutional collaboration. |
