Early Times Report SAMBA, Feb 25: The Government Degree College Samba under the guidance of the revered Principal, Prof (Dr.) Nirlape Kour successfully organized a Road Safety Awareness Rally and Elocution Competition on campus to promote responsible driving practices and highlight the importance of traffic regulations among students and the local community. The programme commenced with a vibrant rally. Students, faculty members, and NSS and NCC volunteers actively participated, carrying placards and raising slogans emphasizing helmet use, seatbelt compliance, avoidance of mobile phone usage while driving, and adherence to traffic rules. Following the rally, an engaging elocution competition was held. Participants eloquently expressed their views on the importance of Road Safety. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation and showcased the oratory skills and social awareness of students. After careful evaluation by the panel of judges consisting of Associate Prof. Samriti Manchanda and Associate Prof. Seema Sharma, Danish Bhagat from Semester Second secured the First Position, Ritika Sharma from Semester Fourth, was awarded the Second Position, and Seema Devi of Semester Eighth bagged the Third Position. The Principal applauded the students for their active involvement and emphasized that road safety is a shared responsibility. She encouraged students to act as ambassadors of change and contribute towards building a safer society. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Associate Prof. Mala Bhasin, Convener-Road Safety Awareness Committee, reaffirming the college's commitment to fostering civic sense and social responsibility among youth through awareness-driven initiatives. |
