MBS College organized blood donation camp in collaboration with J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society

JAMMU, Feb 25: The NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology, in collaboration with J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society, organized a Blood Donation Camp at the college campus. The initiative brought together students, staff, and management in support of this noble and life-saving cause. The drive witnessed an impressive turnout and enthusiastic participation from volunteers across departments.
The camp was coordinated by the NSS Unit under the leadership of Ripudaman Singh (Assistant Professor), Department of Mechanical Engineering. A medical team led by Dr. Rajat Kumar from Government Medical College, Jammu supervised the camp and provided essential medical support, ensuring that the donation process was conducted safely and efficiently.
Students and staff members donated blood generously, demonstrating compassion, solidarity, and a strong sense of social responsibility. A large number of first-year students participated wholeheartedly in the camp. The faculty of the Applied Sciences and Humanities Department, headed by Ms. Sarbjeet Kour, actively assisted in mobilizing donors, managing registrations, and extending logistical support throughout the event.
This altruistic effort will significantly benefit individuals suffering from thalassemia who require regular blood transfusions. Er. Sudhir Sethi, President of the J& K thalassemia welfare society, played a key role in coordinating the camp and expressed gratitude to the college for its continued support.
S. Gurnam Singh, Chairman of the institution, appreciated the organizing team for their dedicated efforts. Prof. Praveen Singh Dean Academics, and convener of event also donated blood. Dr. Amrik Singh, In-charge Principal, along with Mr. H. S. Gill (DSW), and all Heads of Departments, lauded the donors for their humanitarian spirit and commitment to the welfare of society.
The event concluded with a message encouraging continued participation in such social initiatives, reaffirming the institution's dedication to community service and nation-building.
