| Drug peddler arrested with heroin | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, Feb 25: In its drive against the drugs & its propagators, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma -IPS seized approx. 8.47 grams of Heroin like narcotics & 01 drug peddler was arrested in the jurisdictional area of P/S Kathua.
On 24.02.2026, the police team led by SHO PS Kathua Insp. Ashish Sharma under the guidance of Addl. SP Kathua Rahul Charak JKPS & DySP Hqrs. Kathua Ravinder Singh during patrolling in its jurisdictional area apprehended one person enrouted under suspicious circumstances. During further questioning, he disclosed his name as Janit @Janu S/o Multan Singh R/o Barwal Tehsil & District Kathua. On thorough checking approx. 8.47 grams of Heroin-like substance recovered from his possession got seized and the said accused person got arrested. Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 102/2026 U/S 8/20/21 NDPS Act registered at PS Kathua and further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages involved in the supply chain of drugs in the area. |
