Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 27: The MSME-Development and Facilitation Office Jammu organized an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) on 27th February 2026 at 11:00 AM onwards in association with Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology, Patoli, Jammu. The programme aimed at creating awareness among students about various self-employment opportunities and government schemes available for aspiring entrepreneurs. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 61 participants and students of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology, Patoli, Jammu. Their active involvement reflected the growing awareness of entrepreneurship as a pathway to self-reliance and community development. The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Er. Rajnish Magotra, Head, Civil Engineering Department, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career option. A brief overview of the programme was presented by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Singh, Director, Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology, who emphasized the importance of innovation, skill development, and industry linkage for young engineers. The technical sessions featured detailed presentations by distinguished resource persons: Shahid Hussain Wani, Young Professional, MSME-DFO Jammu, delivered an informative presentation on various MSME schemes, including support for new enterprises, credit-linked subsidies, and assistance for technology upgradation. Amit Kumar, Functional Manager, District Industries Centre, Jammu, elaborated on schemes of the UT Government aimed at promoting industrial growth and startup support in the region. Rajesh Kumar, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Jammu, presented key initiatives of the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute focused on skill development and financial assistance for entrepreneurs. R.K. Raina (Retd.), Financial Literacy Counsellor, State Bank of India Jammu, highlighted various banking schemes and stressed the importance of financial literacy for budding entrepreneurs. D.K. Tyagi, IEDS, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO Jammu, provided insights into MSME schemes and motivated students to take up entrepreneurship as a career path, emphasizing the Government of India's strong support ecosystem. Sheetal, Faculty, SBI-RSETI Jammu, explained the training and self-employment opportunities available under SBI-RSETI schemes. The programme witnessed active interaction between students and experts, with participants seeking guidance on startup registration, financial assistance, training programmes, and credit facilitation. |
