Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 27: The Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu & Kashmir (IRCS-J&K), flagged off a group of enthusiastic students from Doda district, Jammu, to participate in the National Youth Exchange Programme organized by Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch w.e.f 24th February to 1st March, 2026 at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab. The flag-off ceremony was held in the presence of Sh. Krishan Lal, JKAS, Deputy Commissioner Doda. The programme reflected the continued commitment of IRCS-J&K towards promoting humanitarian values, youth leadership, and national integration. Speaking on the occasion, Krishan Lal, JKAS, Deputy Commissioner Doda, lauded the efforts of the Red Cross Society in providing such meaningful opportunities to the youth. He encouraged the students to make the most of the training camp, learn essential life-saving skills, and develop leadership qualities. He emphasized that participation in such programmes not only enhances confidence and discipline but also instills a strong sense of social responsibility and service towards the nation. Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, IRCS-J&K (UT), in his message, highlighted the importance of the Junior Red Cross/ Youth Red Cross in shaping responsible and compassionate young citizens. He stated that the training camp will focus on Painting, quiz written, folk songs, group songs, Cultural dance, yoga sessions, one on one discussions, teamwork, sight seeing and the fundamental principles of the Red Cross Movement. He urged the students to actively engage in all sessions and return as ambassadors of humanity, ready to serve their communities in times of need. The selected students from Doda will undergo comprehensive training and will also get an opportunity to interact with participants from different states/UTs, fostering cultural exchange and strengthening inter-state coordination within the Red Cross network. IRCS-J&K remains dedicated to empowering youth through structured training programmes and continues to expand the reach of Junior Red Cross activities across the Union Territory. |
