NEW DELHI, Feb 27: Department of Banking Technology, School of Management, Pondicherry University proudly presents BANCQUEST'26, a high-profile industry interface event at Pondicherry University, Puducherry.
The theme of BANCQUEST'26 was "Next Gen Banking: The Pulse of AI Powered Digital Financial Transformation", highlighting how Artificial Intelligence will transform banking, strengthening digital systems, and drive inclusive, data-powered growth.
The inaugural event commenced with the University Anthem, setting a solemn and dignified tone for the occasion. It was followed by a traditional Bharatanatyam performance, invoking the blessings of the Almighty and celebrating India's rich cultural heritage.
The ceremony of lighting of the lamp was then carried out by the esteemed dignitaries: Honourable Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University; Prof. P. Natarajan, Professor and Dean, School of Management, Pondicherry University; Prof. A. Balakrishnan, Professor and Head, Department of Banking Technology, Pondicherry University; Rakesh Kumar, Group Director, Computers and Information Group, Indian Space Research Organisation; Giri Narasimhan, Founder and CEO, Euleris LLC, USA; and Viswanathan Chockalingam, Thought Leader and Advisor - FS Consulting, Infosys.
The Honourable Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University, officially inaugurated and digitally launched the BANCQUEST'26, setting the proceedings in motion.
Prof. P. Natarajan, Professor and Dean, School of Management, Pondicherry University, honoured the Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. P. Prakash Babu, with a bouquet and a memento as a mark of respect and gratitude. Subsequently, the Vice-Chancellor felicitated the distinguished guests
Prof. P. Natarajan, Dean, School of Management, Pondicherry University, delivered the Felicitation Address, wherein he elaborated on the theme of BANCQUEST'26. He highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in redefining financial systems.
Subsequently, the Honourable Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University, delivered the Presidential and Inaugural Address. In his address, he commended the Department of Banking Technology for its distinctive multidisciplinary
framework that seamlessly integrates technology, core banking, and financial expertise, thereby equipping students with industry-relevant competency. He further announced the proposed Mega Alumni Meet scheduled to be conducted before October 2026, emphasizing its significance in strengthening alumni engagement and institutional networking. He also highlighted the recent Memorandum of Understanding signed with the University of Mauritius, underscoring the University's commitment to international collaboration and academic exchange.
