JAMMU, Feb 28: Continuing its crackdown under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu (Rural) Police foiled two separate bovine smuggling attempts in Akhnoor Sub-Division and rescued three bovine animals. During routine naka checking at Naka Point Garkhal, a team of BPP Garkhal rescued two bovines and seized auto load carrier JK08L-1834. The driver, Gahara Chand S/o Sanduri Lal R/o Pindi Rajpura, Pargwal, was taken into custody.
FIR No. 37/2026 under Section 223 BNS and Section 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Akhnoor.
In another incident at Kathar, PP Chowki Choura rescued one bovine from Abdul Shahid S/o Abdul Rahman R/o Ward No. 08, near Tali Morh, Reasi.
FIR No. 39/2026 under Section 223 BNS and Section 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Akhnoor.
Further investigation in both cases is underway. |
