| Inauguration of Project AAROHII in Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 28: A significant step towards strengthening women's healthcare services in Jammu was marked today with the inauguration of Project AAROHII, a comprehensive health initiative focusing on the prevention, early detection, and awareness of cervical cancer and breast cancer. The project also introduced an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance to enhance emergency medical response in the region. The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, Director Health Services, Jammu, in the presence of Guest of Honour Dr. Harbaksh Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Jammu. The event was also graced by Dr Bhavna Langer Associate Professor Community Medicine Government Medical College Jammu, Nodal Officer Preventive Oncology State Cancer Institute Jammu. Dr. Surbi Kudiyaar, Breast Cancer Specialist, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, President of HOPE, Rtd. ARTO Tara mani, along with staff members and dignitaries. The project is being coordinated by Mr. Minkle Kumar, Project Coordinator. Project AAROHII aims to empower women by providing accessible and timely healthcare services related to cervical and breast cancer. The initiative includes screening camps, awareness programmes, medical consultations, and referrals for advanced treatment where required. A key highlight of the project is that all services under this initiative will be provided completely free of cost, ensuring that financial constraints do not become a barrier to essential healthcare. The newly launched Advanced Life Support Ambulance is fully equipped with modern life-saving equipment and trained medical personnel to handle critical emergencies, further strengthening the healthcare infrastructure of Jammu. This initiative is supported under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re) and is being implemented by the Human Organisation for Patronization of Environment (HOPE). Representatives from GIC Re also participated in the inauguration ceremony online through Zoom, expressing their commitment and support towards the successful implementation of the project. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of HOPE and GIC Re in addressing critical health issues affecting women and emphasized the importance of early screening and awareness in reducing cancer-related mortality. Project AAROHII stands as a milestone in community healthcare, reinforcing the message of "Empowering Women for a Healthier Tomorrow" and ensuring that quality healthcare services reach those who need them the most. |
