Jammu police nabbed criminal-drug peddler gang

JAMMU, Feb 28: Jammu Police achieved a major success by arresting a notorious criminal-cum-Drug peddler, Dilbagh Singh, resident of Malikpur ,Miran Sahib, against whom multiple FIRs are registered along with three other criminal associates from Miran Sahib area.
The Drug peddlers,criminals have been identified as:-
Dilbagh Singh S/O Janak Singh R/O Malik Pur Miran Sahib
Naman Kumar S/O Vijay Kumar R/O Nougran tehsil Bishnah 03. Sandeep Sharma S/O Makhan Lal R/O Indra Nagar &
Sunny Sharma S/O Makhan Lal R/O Indra Nagar
Dilbagh Singh is a notorious criminal,dug peddler,history sheeter & multiple FIR's are already registered against him in various Police Stations of Jammu District and outside.After Completing detention under PIT NDPS Act,he was again last year arrested in a NDPS case and was wanted for execution of one more PIT NDPS warrant pending against him issued by Divisional commissioner Jammu. His associates Sandeep Sharma and Sunny Sharma son's of Makhan Lal R/o Indra Nagar also have history of involvement in NDPS cases.
Acting on specific inputs on 27.02.2026,a police team of PS Miran Sahib led by SHO,inspector Jatinder Singh laid a special naka on Ring road Miran Sahib when a Swift car having Registration number PB46AL 0415 in which these criminals were travelling were asked by police party to stop but instead they tried to run-away/speed up the vehicle,however police meticulously using appropriate force by bursting the tyre of the vehicle,successfully intercepted the said vehicle and overpowered these criminals and arrested the said Drug paddlers/criminals.During their search, 40 grams of heroin-like substance and a pistol with live ammunition was recovered from their possession.
Swift Car has also been seized.
The entire operation was carried out by police team led by Inspector Sh. Jatinder Singh , SHO Miran Sahib under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu, reinforcing the police's commitment to curbing crime and drug-related activities in the region.
A case FIR No. 34/2026 U/S 109,132,3(5) BNS,3/25 Arms Act,8,21,22,29,60 NDPS has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib under and further investigation is underway to trace the network behind the recovered narcotics and illegal weapon and identify/nab more criminal associates of these criminals.
