Udhampur, Mar 1: Member Legislative Assembly Udhampur East, Ranbir Singh Pathania, today kick-started the macadamisation and improvement work on the Dhar Road from Manwal, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening road connectivity across the constituency. While addressing the gathering, Pathania informed that two major tenders for upgrading the road stretch from Kishenpur to Challan have already been floated. “One tender worth Rs 25 crore and another worth Rs 14 crore have been issued which will virtually provide a smooth, easy and worth-riding surface for commuters on this important stretch,” he said. Pathania said that the demand for improving this road was repeatedly raised by the local population and he had also taken up the matter at appropriate forums including in the Legislative Assembly and with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, seeking early intervention for upgrading road connectivity in the area. Local residents present on the occasion expressed gratitude to the MLA for pursuing the issue consistently and ensuring that the project moves forward. During the visit, Pathania also started macadamisation work on the Dagodia Moh Road at Sandoo, being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 60 lakh, which will significantly benefit the surrounding villages and improve daily transportation for residents. He further announced that macadamisation work on the main road connecting to the Degree College will be taken up shortly, which will greatly facilitate students and the general public. Highlighting the broader vision for infrastructure development, Pathania said that rural connectivity across the region will witness a major transformation. He noted that large-scale road development projects connecting Samba to Udhampur and the Challan–Udhampur road corridor, involving works worth nearly Rs 3500 crore, will change the overall connectivity scenario of the region and strengthen economic activity. |
