| IIMC Jammu trains around 50 DIPR officers, officials in advanced AI, media skills | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 2: The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Jammu concluded its six-day Capacity Building and Professional Skills-Enhancement Programme on Monday. Around 50 officers and officials of the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu & Kashmir participated in the programme and received intensive training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and contemporary media practices. The programme was designed to strengthen the institutional communication capacity of DIPR personnel by equipping them with modern media skills aligned with evolving public information needs and governance requirements. Three batches of officers and officials underwent structured training during the six-day programme. The valedictory session was held on Monday, during which certificates were distributed to the participants. Dr. Dilip Kumar, Regional Director, IIMC Jammu congratulated the participants for successfully completing the training and encouraged them to apply the newly acquired skills in their professional responsibilities. He appreciated their enthusiasm in learning AI Fundamentals and Applications, Advanced AI & Practical Applications, Print Media Basics and Advanced Practices, as well as Electronic Media Basics and Advanced Practices. Zahoor Raina, Joint Director, DIPR also congratulated the participants and expressed confidence that they would implement their learning in a professional and effective manner within the department. Ms. Alka Misra, Information Officer, DIPR and Prof. Anil Saumitra were also present at the valedictory session and extended their best wishes to the participants. Dr. Vinit Kumar Jha Utpal, Course Coordinator of the training programme, presented the comprehensive training report during the session. The programme was inaugurated on February 23, 2026, by Dr. Dilip Kumar, who encouraged participants to actively engage with the sessions and achieve the objectives of the training. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional upskilling in today's rapidly evolving media landscape. Earlier, Dr. Vinit Kumar Jha Utpal briefed participants about the structure, modules, and guidelines of the training programme. Prof. Anil Saumitra delivered the introductory lecture, highlighting the crucial role of DIPR officers and officials in the government communication system. |
