Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 2: Jammu & Kashmir Bank, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative Project RISE (Respecting Identities | Promoting Equality), organized a series of gender sensitization and self-defence awareness programmes in Jammu district. The initiative was implemented by Live For Others - Being Helpful Foundation (LFO-BHF) as part of its outreach across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, with the objective of promoting equality, dignity, and personal safety among students. The awareness sessions were conducted at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mubarakh Mandi, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Canal Road, Government High School, Deeli, and Government High School, City Chowk. The sessions were conducted by Ms. Stuti Abrol, who actively engaged students through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations. On speaking with Mr. Vivek Parihar, Director & CEO LFO-BHF, he stated, "Special emphasis was placed on self-defence training, where students were introduced to basic practical techniques aimed at enhancing personal safety, building confidence, and enabling effective response in challenging situations. The sessions also addressed gender sensitivity, respectful behaviour, and the importance of inclusive and responsible social conduct." Through these interactive engagements, a total of 2561 students were sensitized across various educational institutions in Jammu district. The programme highlighted the importance of empowering youth by integrating awareness with practical skills for real-life preparedness. The initiative witnessed active participation from students, teachers, and school authorities, who appreciated the relevance, clarity, and hands-on approach of the sessions, reinforcing the message of safety, sensitivity, and self-empowerment. |
