JAMMU, Mar 5: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substances abuse, Jammu Police achieved one more success by recovering 16.71 gms of Heroin (Chita) like substance from two drug peddlers near Puro Bhana Chowk, R S Pura under the jurisdiction of Police Station R S Pura.
A Police team of Police Station R S Pura led by SHO R S Pura, Inspector Tribhawan Khajuria under the supervision of supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu & SDPO R S Pura, On 04.03.2026,while performing naka/patrolling duty at about 1300 hours, near Puro Bhana Chowk, R S Pura two persons coming from R.S Pura towards Purobhana, on noticing the police party, attempted to escape from the spot, which raised suspicion. Upon this, the alert police party successfully intercepted the persons and apprehended them. On questioning, the persons disclosed their names as 1. Atul Choudhary S/o Narinder Pal R/o Village Puro Bhana, Tehsil R.S. Pura, 2. Mohd Saleem S/o Pissar Din R/o Village Chak Mohd Yar, Tehsil R.S. Pura. During their personal search, 16.71 grams of heroin-like substance, were recovered from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No.49/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station R S Pura, accused persons have been arrested, contraband Seized and further investigation is going on to unearth the nexus and work out forward/backward linkages in the case.
