GCW Gandhinagar hosts District-Level Road Safety Awareness Programme

JAMMU, Mar 7: In a vibrant, awareness-driven initiative aimed at nurturing responsible citizens, the Road Safety Awareness Committee of PSPS GCW Gandhinagar organized the District Level Inter-College Road Safety Awareness Programme under the aegis of the Higher Education Department, UT of Jammu and Kashmir. The thought-provoking youth-centric event, conducted in collaboration with various departments under the guidance of Principal , Dr. Kulvinder Kour, to sensitize young minds about road safety through engaging competitions such as Painting, Slogan Writing, and Elocution.The Students from various Degree Colleges across Jammu District participated with remarkable enthusiasm. The programme witnessed spirited participation and creative brilliance, reinforcing the idea that students can become true ambassadors of change in society.
The Painting Competition organized by the Department of Home Science was a display of powerful visual metaphors, striking compositions highlighting the importance of safe driving.
Ms. Assesabjot Kour of GCW Parade, Ms. Prabjot Kour of GCOE Jammu, & Ms Kaushika Bhatyalof GCW Gandhinagar was adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd position winners by art-savvy panel of jury Dr. Milan Sharma, HOD IMFA; Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Former HOD, IMFA and Dr. Subject Singh HOD Sculpture , IMFA.
Adding further intellectual spark to the event, the Departments of Political Science, Sociology, and Social Work organized the creative and thought-provoking Slogan Writing Competition, where students penned crisp , impactful and thought-provoking slogans that truly hit the road safety concerns. The competition was adjudged by the eminent academicians Dr. Nirlape Kour, Principal of GDC Samba, Dr. Alka Sharma, Principal of GDC Billawar, and Prof. Sanjay Kotwal, Associate Professor, GDC Reasi. Ms. Adity Angral of GCW Gandhinagar, Ms Sapna of GDC Jindrah, Ms. Neelakshi of GDC Paloura bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
